“With her poems, Terry Godbey tells stories that break your heart, over and over."

— Martin Achatz, Passages North Poetry Editor

Come celebrate the release of my new chapbook, Flame, with a party and reading at the sumptuous Scott Laurent gallery in Winter Park.  If you came in January 2011 when Beauty Lessons was released, you won’t want to miss the sequel. And if you missed the first reading, you can make up for it in February. There will be a short reading, book signing, wine and cheese (and maybe even a bit of shopping).

‘Flame’ On Sale

October 18, 2011

flame by terry godbeyNew in 2012!

“Terry Godbey is both poet and hypnotist in these startling poems. I held each one close, like a lit match, until it burned. A hunger smolders in this book, one brought to life after divorce, after the tomboy ways of youth and the body’s betrayal, and this hunger is infectious, leaving one to ‘wonder where creatures go/when they can go anywhere.’ ” – Alison Pelegrin

“Terry Godbey’s Flame is a nuanced journey into the landscape of the interior, where our lives are tangled in beauty and ruin, season after season. It is a collection filled with courage, deep recognition and a necessary fire capable of enduring the losses a lifetime brings. In Flame, the human heart refuses to silence the desire that keeps it alive.” – Brian Turner

pink ribbon project“Infusion Fridays,” one of my new poems about my breast cancer journey, was performed by an actor in The Pink Ribbon Project at the Orlando Repertory Theatre in September.

Directed by Aradhana Tiwari, the night of drama, dance and visual art inspired by women fighting the disease took place Sept. 16, 17 and 18 in Orlando, FL.

Three hundred fifteen people attended the show. More than $4,600 was raised for the Breast Cancer Fund at Florida Hospital Cancer Institute to pay for mammograms for uninsured and underserved women.
